Faux Leather Travelers Journals With a Twist

I was fortunate enough to be gifted some very nice faux leather fabric samples a while back.  At first I wasn’t sure what to do with them, until I came across a journal in a craft store that give me an idea of how to put them to use.  This is one of the first ones I made.

I recently decided that it was time to make a few more.  After sewing the covers together, I decided that I wanted to do something besides a plain cover, so I decided to create some vignettes on each one.

Here is how they turned out.

To say I love them is indeed an understatement!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, so I just wanted to share some of what I’ve been working on.

Enjoy!

I Am Not a Hoarder

There is a difference between being a hoarder and a collector.

A collector is discriminate.  The things that a collector finds and keeps have meaning and value to them.  They have a distinct purpose and are seen as useful.

To an artist, ordinary objects take on extraordinary meaning.  Where some people see just trash, we see something that we can create something with.

These items we collect are not just for us to hold on to.  We give them new life by giving them new meaning and purpose.  We turn them into works of art.

So, don’t call me a hoarder, because I am a collector.
