These journals are called “junk” journals because they contain a variety of different types of papers, such as book pages, graph paper, lined paper, magazine pages, etc. They are often made with found and recycled materials, filled with ephemera and the pages are often embellished with fabric, tassels, charms and tabs.
Junk journals can be used as a way to collect and record memories, thoughts, ideas and inspiration. They can be used as an everyday journal where you can document all the little moments of life. They can also be used as a memory book or travel journal. The possibilities are endless and entirely up to you as to where your imagination will take you.
All of my journals are created in a pet friendly, smoke free environment. These journals are lovingly made by hand, not by machine and this means they may not be “perfect”. Their slight imperfections only lend to their charm and uniqueness.

Vintage Lace Junk Journal – Sold
This another hybrid junk journal, as it is not filled with a variety of different kind of papers, but the coffee dyed pages are decorated with decorative papers, lace and tabs and contains pockets filled with ephemera. It is created from a hard cover book where the pages have been removed, the book turned inside out and the inside covers are now the outside covers of the journal. It contains two signatures, each with 15 coffee dyed pages (30 front and back). This journal measures 9 inches high and 6 1/4 inches wide and has a hook and latch closure.

This journal is filled with woodland themed graphics and pages decorated with fabric, lace, tags, etc. It contains three sewn in signatures with 15 pages (30 front and back) of a variety of papers and a folder to hold all your important extras. The cover is made from book board that has been collaged, stamped and covered with faux encaustic. It measures 9 /14 by 5 3/4 and has a ribbon closure. The journal is filled with nature themed graphics and images and quotes, all on coffee, tea and eco dyed papers. Many of the pages contain lace, fabric, beads and charms. There are also tags and other ephemera inside the numerous pockets and tuck spots, as well as plenty of blank pages for writing.
