These journals are created from recycled, hard cover books. The pages are removed, the covers are hand painted, collaged or covered in fabric, then signatures filled with various papers are sewn into the spine. Sometimes the covers are so perfect on their own that no embellishment is necessary.
All of my journals are created in a pet friendly, smoke free environment. These journals are lovingly made by hand, not by machine and this means they may not be “perfect”. Their slight imperfections only lend to their charm and uniqueness.
Every effort is made to represent the colors as accurately as possible, but please note that colors can vary by the type of device and display they are viewed on.

Mermaid Journal – $85
This journal is created from a hardcover book which depicts a beautiful mermaid on the cover. The books pages have been removed and replaced with two signatures of hand dyed papers. Each signature contains 30 pages (60 front and back) which are decorated with mermaid images, trims and some of the original pages from the book. There are pockets throughout containing mermaid and nautical themed ephemera. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high and 7 inches wide.
Mystical Cat Journal – Sold
This journal is made from a recycled hard cover book to which images of two gorgeous mystical cats were added over a black and white fabric cover. It contains two signatures, each with 24 pages (48 front and back) of coffee dyed paper. There are pockets on the inside front and back covers, filled with various pieces of ephemera. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high by 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.
Vintage Butterfly Garden Journal – $45
This journal is made from a hard cover book to which images of a vintage butterfly garden were added to the outside cover and other vintage images were added to the inside covers. The spine is covered with a piece of coordinating fabric and is embellished with three buttons and a floral trim. It contains two signatures, each with 40 pages of coffee dyed paper (80 pages front and back). There is also a belly band on the back cover, which contain various pieces of ephemera. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.
Boulevard Journal – Sold
This journal is made from a hard cover book to which a piece of dusty blue fabric featuring cream vintage florals was added to the outside cover and cotton canvas was added to the inside. It contains two signatures, each with 30 pages of coffee dyed paper (60 pages front and back). Some smaller sheets have also been added within the signatures. There are also pockets on the inside of the front and back covers, which contain various pieces of ephemera. The journal measures 8 3/4 inches high and 5 3/4 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.

This journal is made from a hard cover book to which a piece of a Kantha quilt was added to the outside cover and cotton canvas was added to the inside of the book. This journal was created from an unwanted hardcover book. It was covered in a beautiful botanical fabric and filled with three signatures containing embellished coffee dyed and decorative papers. Each signature has 30 pages (60 front and back) and there is a collaged pocket on the back cover to hold important items. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.
Brown Hare Journal – Sold
This journal was made from an old hardcover book. The pages were removed and replaced with coffee dyed paper. The cover is decorated with an image of a cute brown rabbit and adorned with gold embellishments. The spine is covered in velvet. It contains two signatures with 30 pages each (60 front and back). There is a pocket on the inside cover, as well as two more pockets inside, all filled with ephemera, a handmade notepad and bookmark. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.
Vintage Songbook Journal – Sold
This journal was created with pages from a vintage songbook decorating the covers and beautiful pink sari trim with gold accents decorating the spine. It contains two signatures, with 40 pages each (80 pages front and back). There are also pockets on both the front and back covers containing vintage ephemera and a bookmark. The journal measures 8 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.
Vintage Readers Digest Journal – Sold
This journal was created from a vintage Readers Digest found at an antique store in St. Augustine, Florida. It has three signatures with 30 pages each (60 front and back) of coffee dyed paper. There are also pockets with various ephemera throughout. The spine has been decorated with a coordinating fabric and collaged flowers. The journal measure 7 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and has a ribbon closure.

Vintage Floral Junk Journal – Sold
This journal has coffee dyed pages that are decorated with ribbon, lace and tabs and contain pockets filled with ephemera. It is created from a hard cover book where the pages have been removed, the book turned inside out and the inside covers are now the outside covers of the journal. It contains three signatures, each with 24 coffee dyed pages (48 front and back). This journal measures 9 inches high and 6 1/4 inches wide and has a hook and latch closure.
Vintage Butterfly Journal – Sold
This journal was made by collaging decorative tissue paper over a hard cover book and then adding layers of ink, paint washes and matte medium until the perfect shade was achieved. The journal measures approximately 8 1/2 inches high and 5 3/4 inches wide. There are 3 signatures sewn in, containing 20 pages each (40 front and back) for a total of 120 pages of coffee dyed papers. There is also a bookplate on the front cover that adds to the vintage charm.
